A poem in the “I feel feelings about time change” category …

Then he got an idea! An awful idea!

THE GRINCH GOT A WONDERFUL AWFUL IDEA!

“I know just what to do!” The Grinch laughed in his throat.

He glanced at the clock and he started to gloat.

And he chuckled, and clucked, “What a great Grinchy trick!”

“I’ll turn back their clocks, I’ll make it dark very quick!

They’ll go to work every day, but before they are done.

It’ll be too dark to play, and they’ll have no fun.

During this season of fall joy and cheer

The sun will set before five, and the dark will be near.

They’ll lose an hour of daylight, day in and day out,

It’ll be March before time change sorts itself out!”

The Grinch changed all the clocks when 2 a.m. struck,

leaving darkness to show us each evening’s poor luck.

The Grinch still won’t win, he won’t stop our fall song.

But the Grinch that is time change makes those dark evenings so long.
